Item Description
Hexagonite is the ultra-rare manganoan-rich variety of tremolite and is distinguished by its lilac to purple color. It is only found in two counties in New York. Hexagonite was supposedly a hexagonal form of tremolite, but was shown to be monoclinic. That being said, this is an incredibly huge, 10.8 cm long, gemmy and lustrous, lilac hexagonite crystal in a solid LARGE CABINET matrix of smaller hexagonite crystals and needles! There is an impression on the back side, where another fairly large crystal once rested. You just do not see hexagonite crystals of this size and hexagonite specimens of this size and quality around. Its also pretty and historic as well. Valued at $1500. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!
