Item Description
Tremolite is a member of the Tremolite-Actinolite series Group of the Amphibole Group. It is an important rock forming mineral, most commonly in granular or fibrous form. Sharp grass-green crystals, such as these are highly desirable. The green chromofore is Chromium and/or Vanadium. The three distinctively different sized lustrous terminated crystals are translucent to gemmy and have frosted faces. The large crystal is 3.8 cm and the matrix is talc. This RARE and excellent piece is from a very obscure Afghanistan locale. A very fine and rare combination example from the Kay Robertson Collection # 13171. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). Ghostly white fluorescence.
