Tremolite

Tremolite is not often found in sharp, gemmy crystals, they can often be opaque and dull colored. This piece is white for all intents and purposes, but the fact that is shows some internal gemminess / translucency makes all the difference for me. It's actually fairly sharp and lustrous, though contacted on the termination. I've never actually seen one of these crystals in person, and it obviously came out years ago based upon the aged label that accompanies the piece. If you collect Amphibole minerals, don't miss out on this rare and interesting example from Afghanistan.
