Item Description
Tremolite is not often found in sharp, gemmy crystals, they can often be opaque and dull colored. The specimens from near Minden are excellent examples of this well known Apmhibole species. The main crystal on this full-sized thumbnail is sharp, well-formed and shows a good amount of silky-green color and gemminess. I honestly thought it was a Tourmaline when I first picked it up. The crystal is surrounded by crude crystallized Tremolite matrix. How often does one see a matrix specimen of Tremolite in a well-balance and aesthetic thumbnail? These pieces are not common, and if you know anything about Amphibole minerals, they're typically not seen in sharp gemmy crystals.
