Item Description

A dramatic, large, extremely rich, tourmaline combination plate from the renowned Pederneira Mine. Glassy, gemmy, bi-colored tourmalines are festooned in a striking jackstraw pattern on the massive albite matrix. Scattered snow-white cleavelandite blades are a super contrast and the tourmalines and cleavelandite rest on a rind purple lepidolite above the albite. Two of the lustrous, striated tourmalines reach 5.0 cm (tall vertical and horizontal DT). Tourmaline colors vary from teal-blue to vivid teal-blue to lilac to bottle-green to yellow-green heliodor to very dark purple or black on the terminations. The interior of the piece is in great shape, with very few broken or bruised crystals. An impressive large combination tourmaline piece from this noted locale. Valued at $1250-1500 for size, richness, combination colors and accessories. It looks great from either side.
