Item Description

An impressive, large, 237 gram tourmaline crystal from the Little Three Mine and which strikingly includes about 10 small gemmy topaz crystals to 7 mm embedded in the termination. This is among the more robust and larger ones I have seen from this locality. It is very glassy, lustrous, well-striated and has good form. The crystal is complete-all-around and the contacting on the back is out of sight. It has a repair about 1/4 up from the bottom, but this can be removed if desired, leaving the rest intact and standing alone very nicely. As is typical for the locality, this one is olive-green. The crystal is more translucent than most, as the backlit photos highlight. Old material, from the 1970s and now very hard to obtain, especially in combination with the topaz crystals! Ex Bill Larson Collection.
