Tourmaline with superb termination

These stunning gem-glassy-capped multi colored tourmalines are the apex of what is possible from this classic Afghani deposit. Such crystals, with such perfectly formed terminations, are one in 1000. This is simply stunning - top marks in all quality factors. The glassy luster atop is the highest possible and really makes the crystal shine. A strong green color in the top half is more saturated than usual. Such pockets came out only a few times, and this was the one kept in the notable collection of Gene Meieran for his single tourmaline suite in this size range. Valued highly, much higher than the usual comparable piece of this material from more contemporary finds, at $4000-5000.
