These uncommon and showy elbaites are called "mushroom tourmalines", due to their unusual shape. Mogok is the only locality, that has produced a quantity of these. It also looks like an striking inverted heart with diamonds! The translucent, nubby crystal has gorgeous, raspberry-red color and one side is preferentially festooned with sparkly quartz points, which is rare for the find. The contacted back reveals the radiating, elongated crystals with a darker core. The backlit photo highlights the rich red color density.
