Fine, glassy example of the famous Jonas Mine, home of one of the great (some people say THE greatest!) Tourmaline discoveries of all time. The upper termination is nicely formed, with good gemminess and outstanding color, and it is highlighted by superb, glassy luster. Adding to the fabulous aesthetices are a spiral wreath of Lepidolite crystals that winds its way around the termination and down the prism. Everything here is sparkly and balanced, so that unlike mos texamples of this famous 1978 pocket in Thumbnail size, it is a "specimen" and not jsut a "small crystal." There is a difference evident here when comparign to others: between something that happens to be a thumbnail specimen because it fits in a regulation box; and between a specimen like this one that is a killer, and happens to be thumbnail-sized. You would be hard-pressed to find a more attractive specimen from a more famous discovery. Valued $2500
