Tourmaline with Lepidolite and Quartz

A beautiful and balanced specimen that is highly unusual for a matrix tourmaline not only from Pederneira, but from this region, in that the quartzes are gemmy and clear. Most Brazilian quartz associated with tourmalines is milky and translucent, and yet this is clear - a gem in and of itself! The combination here is beautiful, and further highlighted by sparkling purple lepidolites in contrast. Like most Pederneira matrix or clusters, it has a repair which we consider acceptable, at the tourmaline midpoint. The tourmaline itself is 5 cm tip to tip, with the see-through quartz nestled around it. Recently acquired form a private collection, we have not seen a nice example of this material beyond smaller specimens. Complete, 360 degrees, all around! Also, this comes with a custom made and engraved lucite base (valued $145) included from the previous owner.
