Item Description

Tourmaline from Brazil keeps surprising us, and this is from one of the few new finds of 2022, a multicolored cluster from the Golconda region of mines. The specimen features a single 7-cm-long and terminated crystal, perched as if like a balanced dancer atop the cluster of tourmaline and lepidolite below. It is dark, but has color when backlit, as you will see in the video. We did not strongly light it for the photos - and you should get color if it has a light aimed at it in a case, though admittedly it first appears dark. It has an attractive composition, overall. Note, it has 2 or possibly 3 repairs, cleanly done, as is typical for Brazilian tourmaline clusters. This specimen is donated by MINERALAUCTIONS.COM as part of the 2023 Dallas Mineral Collecting Symposium benefit auction, with proceeds benefiting Mineralogical Record, Rocks & Minerals, Tucson Gem and Mineral Society, and mindat.org. Thanks to all of our participants!
