Item Description

An exquisite Elbaite Tourmaline miniature from the Golconda pegmatite field in Brazil. It consists of a 3.7 cm, cranberry red-pink, transparent Tourmaline crystal that is essentially gem along its length with only a few, near horizontal internal fractures or inclusion trails. Unfortunately the crystal isn't terminated at either end and so it is not worth a fortune, but the view from the front is amazing and since the damage does little to impact the viewing of it, we decided to auction it as is rather than restore (or add) a termination. The crystal has vivid color and is incredibly glassy! At the base is a fanned cluster of Albite var. Cleavelandite that is sprinkled with Cookeite for added interest. It is, to be blunt, the "bargain impact" for a rubellite.
