Tourmaline with Albite

A huge, heavy specimen of tourmaline with dramatic presence! The video should speak for itself here. The specimen is gorgeous with pastel luster and structured striations of vertical crystals, complete all around, and has a riveting terminations top that is crowned by multiple small sub-terminations and a strong cranberry red color. Amazingly for a crystal cluster of such size, this has NO repairs or restorations. It has no damage of any significance, though has a few small breaks to a few small crystals only visible close up. One crystal in back is contacted (where it grew against matrix) but otherwise complete all around. I am trying to be blunt about the few trivial negatives because the overall effect is so impactful, your eyes just bug out at the sheer size of the thing. Especially when displayed with the red termination facing out a bit at the viewer, it is huge and imposing. Old material. Purchased in 2001 from Butterfields Natural History Auctions #4529 in LA, for $16,000... 20 years ago. It is worth that and much more, today.
