An adorable and fascinating combination from this famous pegmatite. The glassy, highly lustrous, parallel-growth elbaite is strikingly accented with a perpendicular, sharply terminated, translucent quartz crystal. The elbaite looks to be mostly opaque with green translucence along the edges. But surpise! Strong backlighting reveals that the crystal has beautiful areas of bottle-green gemminess. The terminations are pristine and lightly etched. Unusual and aesthetic, old-time Santa Rosa combination material from the 1960s or 70s. Essentially pristine, with only the most trivial of scattered edge wear.
