Elbaite tourmaline specimens from this famous California quarry are RARE. This cute thumbnail crystal has a lustrous, translucent, green body with a gemmy termination. Glassy cleavelandite blades are embedded on one side and are a super accent. The termination is partially dinged and there is side wear by the cleavelandite. Regardless, this remains a significant and rare tourmaline combination piece from this well-known locale. BETTER IN PERSON. From the Al Ordway Collection, so I do trust the label entirely. He probably was there at the time his good friend Bob Reynolds, a well known soCal collector, selfcollected it (as noted on bottom of the thumbnail box included)
