Item Description
Tourmalines from this classic and historic US locality are very difficult to find these days. This piece is a great miniature from Pierrepont featuring a cluster of lustrous, chunky, jet-black Tourmaline (variety Uvite) crystals associated with a small amount of matrix. The crystals range in size from a few millimeters to 2 cm and are highly lustrous with broad, flat, reflective faces unicumbered with any striations or growth features. These Tourmalines were once abundant in old collections of the late 1800s through the mid-1900s and now scarcely turn up. This piece is well composed with distinct crystals, a true USA classic in a good collector size..
