Item Description
Rich, uncommon and exceptional large older schorl from Santa Cruz, Mexico. A centrally placed, 3.5 cm sharply terminated, crystal dominates the rich intergrown cluster of lustrous, striated, jet-black crystals. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 3309 and acquired from California dealers, the Shipleys, at the Indio Show in the mid-1960s. Formerly in the collection of John Sinkankas. John was a renowned author, artist, mineralogist, bibliophile, bookseller, field collector, lapidarist and gemologist, who died in 2002.
