Item Description
This is a large, pristine, unrepaired tourmaline in exceptional condition, featuring a deep green core and a lighter green termination capped by a very thin, red-pink line of growth. It is imposing in its very large, equant form, and perched nicely upon a diagonal crystal of smoky quartz. The large, broad termination is unusual in its even height for such a flat top. And undamaged! Stark white cleavelandite drapes around the backside and provides accent on the left and right display views. IN person, theluster is very good, and the color is more obvious. When strongly backlit, the piece glows. When minimally backlit, the termination glows. Overall, its an impressive piece, good enough for most collections I would think. Valued $7500-8500 range. I paid for this $4500 in Afghanistan, before t was shipped even.
