Item Description

This is CLASSIC OLD SANTA ROSA MATERIAL, totally distinct, from the early 1960s to late 1970s heyday here. It is NOT repaired, somewhat miraculous for those times and places. It was long in the collection of Ed Harrison, a well known collector from the LA area in the 1960s-1970s. The tip of the tourmaline is pristine an measures nearly an inch across (over 2 cm!) and thick. It has a riveting green cap that does not take any backlighting to show off. The tourmaline body is 9 cm, nearly 4 inches, long! Again, it is unrepaired. The quartz is complete all around except for a small tip ding which seems to have been in situ and is not lustrous and distracting, thus. The COLOR of the green is nearly electric, and quite differrent from greencaps of origin from California or Afghanistan in intensity and overall aspect. THis specimen was on loan to and displayed in a museum, and comes with the plastic display label (and musuem information, privately). Folks, this is a $7500-range tourmaline specimen. You cannot GET something this fat& juicy, majestic, sized, and colorful today from the contemporary mines, unrepaired at that?!, for the price range.
