Item Description

GEMMY and lustrous, this Elbaite Tourmaline is from the famous Cruzeiro Mine in Brazil but old - probably 1960s or earlier vintage. The raspberry-pink color is enhanced by the smooth, lustrous faces, and the tiered, primary prism face adds even more interest to this small miniature. Look closely, and you can see that the termination has a mm-size cap that is a deeper raspberry-pink, and razor sharp. Between the luster, the interesting faces, and the cap, the aesthetics of this Elbaite are quite good. Formerly in the Edna Doughty collection.
