Tourmalines comes in every color of the rainbow, and are among the most popular minerals in the world for dealers and collectors alike. They are one of few minerals that feature multiple colors within the same crystal, which combined with good sized display specimens and gem quality material, makes for some eye-catching mineral specimens. This piece hails from the world famous Cruzeiro Mine and is not only a wonderful, gemmy, multi-color prism, but it is dintinctively compressed / "flattened" in one direction, which is not commonly seen in Tourmaline. The piece is complete on the front and back, but it does appear that it might have separated from the pocket wall during growth, and finished crystallizing on the back. The combination of the excellent internal clarity in areas with the warm pink, peach, orange and soft greenish-yellow tones is really beautiful. I love the fact that the crystal is super lustrous on all sides, which is amplified by the gorgeous vertical striations. With the exception of one contact near the termination, there is no other major damage (save the base where it was removed from the pocket). Overall it's a stunning combination of quality, color and gemminess which is contained in this unusually tabular style Tourmaline crystal. Specimen weight is 59.70 grams.
