Item Description

Tourmalines are some of the most diverse and popular gems in the world. Additionally, they are also one of the few gems that occur in natural multi-color stones as well. A good number of bi-color Tourmalines on the market today are from Brazil, and remain as some of the most attractive in the gem world. This "Pear Brilliant" cut gem shows a light pink color on one end with a slight colorless zone in the center and a vibrant blue color on the other end. The stone has some slight inclusions, but it's important to remember that Tourmaline is classified as a "Type 3" gemstone, which means inclusions are almost always present, and accepted by dealers and collectors. I have to say that these stones are becoming harder and harder to find these days (especially for decent prices) and they are facing competition with so many gem Tourmalines coming out of Afghanistan and Africa lately. A great naturally occurring tri-color gem for your collection. It's important to note that there are not many natural multi-color gems out there, and Tourmalines not only continue to increase in popularity, but in value as well, as we have seen the price increase nearly every year for the last decade.
