Set of 4 Tourmaline crystals that represent the rare style of bi-colored Elbaite from the famed Virgem da Lapa locality, and likely these are old pieces indeed. The GEMMY crystals have excellent to good luster, and striations on the prism faces. The color transitions from a bottle-green to a vivid pink at the terminations. These terminations are either complete or partially etched, with both styles being typical for the locality. Rare, colorful, older material from 1960s or 1970s, the longest Elbaite is 11.6 cm and the smallest is 3.5 cm tall. The smallest crystal is also double-terminated. The large crystal (133 grams!) is the target here and the other three (53 grams together) are basically freebies to the lucky winner. The larger one alone is a superb and colorful example of this old style, valued $4000-ish. From the large worldwide collection of historical minerals, of George Elling of New Jersey.
