Item Description

Tourmalines are some of the most colorful and distinctive minerals out there. Not only are they one of the few minerals that is found in multi-colored crystals, but certain examples have such a unique morphology/form that they become iconic. This piece is a wonderful thumbnail sized piece of the famed scepter Tourmalines from Barra do Salinas in Brazil featuring a lovely GEM quality green thicker portion, intergrown with an equally gemmy, beautiful pink colored "stem". Unfortunately the green portion of the specimen is broken, so it's not pristine but the color, form and gemminess are still quite attractive, and this would be a nice pickup for anybody who is interested in gem crystals, Tourmalines or thumbnails.
From the collection of David E Ziga, a geologist who graduated Miami (of Ohio) University in 2017, with a mineralogy background.
