Item Description

This mine has produced some of the most famous Tourmaline specimens in the world. This crystal is a very attractive specimen, featuring the intense coloration of a CHROME GREEN / EMERALD GREEN termination on one end which grades into a vibrant pink hue, then into a smoky green color with a dark olive-green color on the other termination. I can't say for sure which pocket this piece is from, but I'm certain that there are Himalaya experts out there who would know. The piece is nearly a "floater" with only a few nicks on each termination, but the rest of the crystal is in great shape overall with good luster on the prism faces. The amazing green color on the end of the Tourmaline needs strong backlighting to come through, but it's as intense as any green color I've seen in virtually any Tourmaline in the world. It is very rare to find this exact green color in Tourmaline crystals from this mine, or any other for that matter. This crystal has strong color, excellent thickness, and is a wonderful representative gem crystal from this historic locality. Valued at $2,700.
