Tourmaline (rich color)

The world renowned Himalaya Mine in San Diego County has produced some of the most iconic, eye-catching and colorful Tourmaline specimens in the world. This beautiful crystal is a sharp, lustrous, gemmy, attractive, striated pink prism with a basal termination on one end, and a partially re-crystallized ("re-healed") base. When backlit, the vibrant bubble gum color comes rushing through. I can't say for sure which pocket this piece is from, but I'll be that there are Himalaya experts out there who might know. A few small imperfections can be seen, so the piece is not 100% pristine, but it's still very good quality, and UN-REPAIRED. It also has excellent luster on all sides, including the termination, which is not always the case with Himalaya Tourmalines. A classic miniature sized representative gem crystal from this historic locality. Specimen weight is 47.8 grams.
