Item Description
Tourmaline is a notably diverse gem in terms of the range of colors in which it is found. I can honestly say that Tourmaline is found in almost every shade you can think of, and still every now and then we something that is just plain different. The more traditional hues for Tourmaline are green, pink and blue, but this stone has a distinct silvery color (with an almost soft golden overtone), which is only seen in a very small percentage of Tourmalines. The gem has a concave/quantum "Rectangle" cut, with only slight inclusions. Tourmaline is classified as a type-3 gemstone, which means that inclusions in the stones are acceptable in the trade for collectors and dealers, so a stone like this is perfectly acceptable for the material. The gem was cut from a broken crystal found at the Cruzeiro Mine in Brazil in the early 2000s. A cool stone to add to any Tourmaline suite or to match up with a crystal for "rough and cut" set.
