Item Description
Tourmaline gems are beloved because they are celebrated as some of the most colorful stone in the world, both for the intensity of their hues, and the fact that they are found in virtually ever shade you can think of. Certain hues like green, pink and blue are more common to Tourmaline, but this gem has a distinct silvery hue, which is only seen in a very small percentage of Tourmalines. The gem has a concave/quantum "Rectangle" cut, with only very very slight inclusions. Tourmaline is classified as a Type-3 gemstone, which means that inclusions in the stones are acceptable in the trade for collectors and dealers, so a stone like this is perfectly acceptable for the material. The gem was cut from a broken crystal found at the Cruzeiro Mine in Brazil in the early 2000s. A cool stone to add to any Tourmaline suite or to match up with a crystal for "rough and cut" set.
