Item Description

A fascinating and sculptural, large 4-sided tourmaline and quartz combination from Minas Gerais, possibly from the famous Cruzeiro Mine. One sides features a striking intergrown jackstraw cluster of lustrous, well-striated, gemmy to translucent, bottle-green tourmaline crystal sections to 4.0 cm. The elbaites rest on a dramatic cluster of diametrically opposing mostly water-clear quartz points. Some of the quartz terminations are frosted/etched and you can clearly see some included tourmalines, which adds much pizzazz. The nifty doubly terminated quartz at one end is 3.8 cm. This is fine, unusual and rare older material from the Dr. Gary Hansen Collection and dates from the1970s to early 80s.
