Item Description

A showy, older large combination specimen from the well-known Otjua pegmatites of Namibia. A 6.9 cm, lustrous, translucent, green tourmaline crystal is jauntily embedded in the partially euhedral smoky quartz crystal. Quartz is a relatively uncommon mineral from Otjua, which enhances the quality of this piece. Both ends of the tourmaline are broken. It displays very well without aid from two directions. An excellent combination and dates from the 1970s or 80s, when the best quality pieces were coming out.
