Item Description
Pakistan for several decades has been producing excellent gem pegmatite minerals. Some of the finest Aquamarines ever found are those from the Shigar Valley, along with excellent Topaz and Garnet specimens too, but in terms of Tourmalines, Pakistan is typically outshined by the specimens from nearby Afghanistan. With that said, there are a few localities in Pakistan that produce very attractive specimens. This piece is from Chhappu, which is not typically known for its Tourmalines, and came from a small pocket a couple years ago. The piece hosts a rich coverage attractive yellow-green colored, gemmy, prismatic crystals of Tourmaline sitting on Quartz matrix. The main largest Tourmaline measures 3.8 cm long. The vast majority of the crystals are in excellent condition. A showy and desirable specimen from a fairly hard to find locality in Pakistan.
