Item Description
The majority of the Tourmalines you'll find from the Erongo Mountains are often black opaque Schorl, but small discoveries of colorful gemmy Tourmaline crystals have been made, and this piece is a wonderful example of said material. A 4.6 cm, slender, lustrous, gemmy prism of Tourmaline sits beautifully among gem quality, colorless Quartz crystals, with a bit of cream colored etched Microcline on the back. I love the presentation on this piece as the Tourmaline is featured quite prominently. With backlighting, you can see the Tourmaline is mostly a rich green hue, but the upper portion has more of a darker golden overtone. No damage that I can see of consequence, and the piece is NOT repaired. A wonderful showy example of these uncommon Tourmalines. Valued at $1,500. From the collection of Jelani Daniel.
