Tourmaline on DT Quartz (Bill Larson/Pala Prop. Coll.)

Item Description

Bi-colored tourmaline and smoky quartz specimens of this large size and quality are rare from the much less well-known Audrey Lynn Mine of Riverside County. The highly lustrous tourmalines are attached to a striking, opposing pair of glassy smoky quartz crystals (both doubly terminated). The impressive large tourmaline is 6.0 cm and is also doubly terminated. The broken tips of some of the smaller tourmalines reveal the pink inner core surrounded by dark green to black. This dramatic specimen is complete all-around and very nearly pristine. The contacting on the back is out of sight and has no damage, per se.
