Item Description

From a find in the late Fall of 2005 in Pakistan. Here we have an attractive miniature sized specimen from the most famous Tourmaline locality in Pakistan. The crystals on this piece feature a few colors ranging from colorless ("Achroite") pyramidal terminations that transition into a soft yellow-green color, which gives way to a very dark forest-green color (it's virtually black without strong backlighting) throughout the rest of the prisms. To top it off, the crystals are associated with a white bladed "rosettes" of Albite var: Cleavelandite. This is a great display piece and a wonderful pegmatite specimen from a classic locality. These piece are becomingly increasingly difficult to find in today's market. Priced at $700 in the inventory. From the collection of Robert (Bob) Reynolds. Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
