Tourmaline (multicolor) with Albite

From a find in the late Fall of 2005 in Pakistan. Here we have an attractive miniature sized specimen from the most famous Tourmaline locality in Pakistan. These crystals are well known for their multicolor crystals and beautiful aesthetics. The crystal on this piece features a few colors ranging from a very thin colorless ("Achroite") zone at the termination, which transitions into a thin chrome-green color, which gives way to a very dark forest-green color (it's virtually black without strong backlighting) throughout. To top it off, the crystal is associated with a white bladed "rosettes" of Albite var: Cleavelandite. The prism faces of the Tourmaline are very lustrous for this material, and the termination has a bit more of a matte luster. This is a great little display piece and a wonderful pegmatite specimen from a classic locality. These piece are becomingly increasingly difficult to find in today's market.
