Tourmaline (multicolor) with Albite

Item Description

A wonderful small cabinet display specimen from the most famous Tourmaline locality in Pakistan. The piece fatures a gorgeous, sharp, lustrous, gemmy, polychrome Tourmaline crystal with a lovely soft pink pyramidal termination that grades into a light greenish-yellow zone, and then into and a very dark (almost black) green hue throughout the rest of the prism. While the main crystal is not complete on the base, there is a small offshoot crystal on the side, which is terminated at the base, and actually featured a small colorless "Achroite" zone. The Tourmaline is sitting on a bladed group of Albite ("Cleavelandite") to create a showy and three-dimensional display specimen. I can see one small Quartz crystal on the back of the piece as well. No major damage anywhere, and it's great example of this well-known material. Valued at $2,000 retail.
