Tourmaline (multicolor) with Albite

Item Description

A very nice polychrome Tourmaline crystal from the most famous Tourmaline locality in Pakistan. I have seen many Tourmaline specimens from Stak Nala for many years and the one characteristic of that many of them lacked was decent color. This crystal features several colors ranging from a colorless "Achroite" termination, then a beautiful yellow-green color which gives way to an olive-green color, and a very dark (almost black) green hue. The termination is VERY gemmy and has great luster along the prism faces AND the termination, which is not common for this material. The final touch to the piece is an attractive "flower"-like "rosette" of white, bladed Albite (var: "Cleavelandite") and a single Quartz crystal flaring off the base of the piece. Great quality and form for the material. Found in 2011.
