Tourmaline (multicolor crystals) on Albite

Unlike Afghanistan, Pakistan isn't known for a lot of superb Tourmaline crystals. With that said, the premier locality in Pakistan for Tourmaline is Stak Nala. For decades now this storied locale in the Haramosh Mountains has produced some of the most eye-catching and singular Tourmaline crystals extant. This miniature specimen features a predominant, 4.1 cm, sharp, well-formed, gemmy, crystal with a beautiful mix of colors starting with a colorless "Achroite" termination that transitions into a thin green zone, then into more of a yellow-green area, which immediately changes into a dark green (virtually black) throughout the rest of the crystal. There is a smaller crystal near the base of the piece with the same coloring, but on the back of the piece you'll find a crystal that is predominantly PINK, with only a slight amount of the dark greenish-black hue. The Tourmalines are sitting on white bladed Albite for a dramatic effect. A classic example of these beloved Tourmalines. Valued at $1,200 in the inventory.
