Item Description
A really cool polychrome Tourmaline specimen from the most famous Tourmaline locality in Pakistan. I have seen many Tourmaline specimens from Stak Nala for many years and the one characteristic of that many of them lacked was decent color. The crystals on this specimen feature several colors ranging from a light pink shade to a slight colorless ("Achroite") area with a beautiful yellow-green color which gives way to an olive-green color, with a very dark green (nearly black) hue at the base. The crystals have a slight "cat's eye" effect, and truly they look better in person, and certainly were a bit difficult to photograph! The Tourmalines sit on a matrix of "pericline"-twinned Albite and studded with a few Quartz crystals for a nice touch. Great quality all around, as the Tourmalines are virtually damage free, and very eye-catching in person. Found in 2002, and a really cool example of how one diverse the coloration of Tourmaline can be, even on the same specimen! Valued at $800.
