Item Description

Tourmalines are some of the most diverse and popular gems out there. They're one of the few gems that occur in natural bicolor stones as well. The majority of bicolor Tourmalines on the market today are Afghani in origin, and remain as some of the most attractive in the gem world. This particular gem was cut from a piece of rough found about 10 years ago in Afghanistan. The "Oval Step" cut stone shows a distinct green color, but it also highlighted by notable blue and yellow hues, which can best be seen in sunlight. This stone is virtuall eye clean, which is rare as Tourmaline is classified as a "Type 3" gemstone, and inclusions are almost always present, and accepted by dealers and collectors, so this stone is certainly better than most on the market. I have to say that these stones are becoming harder and harder to find these days. A more than worthwhile stone for the starting price.
