Item Description
From a find in the late Fall of 2005 in Pakistan. A great toenail sized specimen from the most famous Tourmaline locality in Pakistan. I have seen many Tourmaline specimens from Stak Nala for many years and the one characteristic of that many of them lacked was decent color. The crystal on this piece features a few colors ranging from a thin colorless ("Achroite") zone at the termination, then a rich chrome-green color, ending with a very dark forest-green color throughout. To top it off, the crystal is associated with a white bladed "rosette" of Albite var: Cleavelandite on the back. The prism of the Tourmaline is rather lustrous for this material, but the terminations are just as lustrous, which is NOT common for these crystals. This is a great little display piece and a wonderful pegmatite specimen from a classic locality. These piece are becomingly increasingly difficult to find in today's market.
