Item Description

Over the last few decades, various pegmatites in Afghanistan have produced some superb Tourmaline specimens, featuring fine quality crystals with beautiful colors. Typically, the crystals from Nuristan are often singles, or isolated prisms of matrix, so it's rare to find multi-crystal groups like this one. This beautiful small cabinet display specimen features several highly lustrous, gemmy/translucent trigonal prisms featuring rich cranberry colored pyramidal terminations, which grade into various shades of pink, orange and even minor colorless hues. The piece is complete on the front and back and is NOT REPAIRED. A thin layer of Mica can be seen on the reverse side of the piece, which is probably what helped the piece stay together in the first place. A wonderful and showy display specimen of this classic and top-tier material. Specimen weight is 70.7 grams. Valued at $2,500-$3,000.
