Item Description
Here we have a beautiful cabinet size display specimen featuring a multi-colored Tourmaline crystal aesthetically flaring of an elongated cream colored partial crystal of Microcline from the famous locality at Paprok. Afghanistan has truly produced some of the most attractive Tourmaline specimens around for the last 30 years or so, and they have really held their own against Tourmalines from other world localities. This crystal has a beautiful lilac hue along the basal termination which grades into a fantastic chrome green color that gives way to yellow and green hues throughout. The Tourmaline is complete all the way around with only a tiny bit of incomplete growth on the back near the Microcline crystal (not visible when displayed). NO REPAIRS and incredibly aesthetic. We had this piece priced at $5,000 in the inventory, and well worth it for the size, aesthetics and quality. It is becoming more and more difficult to obtain superb quality Tourmalines from Paprok for decent prices, as the miners and dealers are charging more and more for them after each new find. It has also come to my attention that the Chinese are buying up a large percentage of the gem grade Tourmalines from this area for faceting, so less and less material is available on the market in recent years. This piece also comes with a FREE lucite base for easy display!
