Item Description

The famous Himalaya Mine has produced some of the most iconic, eye-catching and colorful Tourmaline specimens in the world. This piece is a robust, sharp, lustrous, gemmy, attractive multi-color crystal with a strong pink hue through the majority of the prism, and is topped off with a gemmy, blue-green colored "cap". When the piece is backlit, the two colors really stand out. I can't say for sure which pocket this piece is from, but I'll be that there are Himalaya experts out there who might know. There is a spot on the back of the crystal where another Tourmaline presumably once grew, but it is NOT damaged, and upon close inspection, I can see that it is fully recrystallized ("re-healed"). A fine thumbnail sized representative gem crystal from this historic locality. Specimen weight is 19.45 grams. From the collection of Brian Kosnar.
