Item Description

A fantastic display specimen from Shengus, Pakistan which is better-known for its excellent red Spessartine crystals, but has produced, albeit sporadically, some really beautiful Tourmalines. This small cabinet specimen hosts a fine quality, euhedral, lustrous, trigonal prismatic crystal showing a rich blue-green hue on the pyramidal termination, which grades into a rich green color in the central portion of the crystal (best seen with backlighting) and then ending with an opaque black hue at the base. The Tourmaline is highlighted by several well-formed, sharp, lustrous, GEM quality, colorless Quartz crystals around the lower third of the specimen. The piece is in fine condition, with no damage on the front/display side, though there is a separation mark on one of the Quartz crystals on the reverse side of the piece, but you can't see it when the piece is displayed. The piece is also UN-repaired, which is worth noting, as comparable crystals from the Pederneira Mine in Brazil are often glued back together, so to find a piece that is complete and intact is always appreciated.
Valued $4,000.
