Item Description
A superb and beautiful gem crystal of Tourmaline from the famous Sapo Mine in Brazil. This mine has recently produced some very enticing Apatite specimens, but the Tourmalines are certainly distinctive, HIGHLY colorfull, and sought after by collectors. This particular specimen features several colors starting with a very thin silvery-purple zone at the top most portion of the termination which gives way to a beautiful electric blue color and then grades into a bright green hue, and finishing with a vibrant pink color throughout the rest of the prism. Along with being a multi-color crystal, this is also a "watermelon" Tourmaline as you can clearly see the outer green "rind" surrounding the pink interior. For a final touch, there are several groups of purple/lilac Lepidolite along the prism. It must be noted that Lepidolite is no longer a valid species, but rather part of the Polylithionite-Trilithionite series. Lastly, the crystal has a slight indentation at the termination where it is essentially thinner than the rest of the crystal, but this is not damage, and does not take away from the quality of the piece whatsoever. Valued at $1800-$2000 retail.
