Item Description
This is a beautiful matched pair of pink Tourmalines from the famous New England locality at Mt Mica. These are some of the most famous and well known Tourmaline from the United States. Long before the pegmatite localities in San Diego County, California, the various pegmatites in Maine were producing some of the most sought after, vivid colors of Tourmaline in the world. This gem is from a piece of rough that was mined by Dean McCrillis in the early 1970's. These stones have a great pink color, with VVS clarity (very often the material from Maine has some slight inclusions), and "Marquise" cuts. These gems are prized by collectors and dealers alike, and aside from the fact that they would make for a perfect pair of earrings (contact Brett Kosnar at brett@minclassics.com to have him mount them into settings for you), these stones would also make a great addition to a Tourmaline suite, a collection of U.S. gemstones, or even a collection of gemstones from Maine.
