Item Description
A SAN DIEGO RARITY: This elbaite was mined in March 28, 2011 from the Tourmaline King mine (we have a photo of the working mine with the piece held up in front of it), and went into a private collection at that time. Save for a 2 mm thick narrow blue termination, this lustrous and translucent, elbaite crystal is a a rich pink color. It was the best crystal found in recent mining up to that time and til now, so far as we are aware. Minor edgewear on the back of of the termination is not readily noticeable and it is otherwise pristine. the COLOR IS INCREDIBLE! It LOOKS like it could have been from the old 1970s bluecaps finds at the nearby Queen Mine, but it is in fact a rarity from the lesser known King, which is being worked slowly but surely. valued $3500
