Item Description

Tourmalines are beloved by dealers and collectors for their intense colors in various shades. Mozambique has produced a good number of excellent Tourmalines recently, but richly colored material is somewhat difficult to find. This stone has a lovely "Brilliant Pear" cut with a unique "aurulent" color, that actually shows a bit of pleochroism, similar to that of Andalusite with slight golden, greenish and yellow hues. It is nearly eye clean, and would make a great addition to gem collection. Tourmaline is classified as a "Type III" gemstone (the same classification as Emerald), as inclusions are almost always present, and accepted by dealers and collectors, so when you find a nearly clean stone like this, it's a real treat. Valued at $546.25 high retail.
