Item Description
Here we have an attractive thick, prismatic pastel pink and blue Tourmaline crystal good internal gemminess. The faces are HIGHLY lustrous with beautiful striations and smooth, glistening reflectiveness. The termination is not broken, but rather has a overgrowth of small, beige colored, sharp, lustrous Quartz crystals. This piece dates back to the 1970s, and is a classic example of these wonderful, classic and desirable Tourmaline specimens from Brazil. Specimen weight is 60.0 grams. From the collection of legendary Colorado miner, Dave Bergman. Dave is now retired, but mined all over Colorado and was most famously the former the foreman and primary person in charge of recovering specimens at the famous Sweet Home Mine near Alma, Colorado during the late 1970s. He is also the maternal grandfather of Brian Kosnar. See Dave's photo mining at the Sweet Home on page 58 of Peter Bancroft's book "Gem and Crystal Treasures". Valued at $800-$1,000 retail.
